Akkineni Nageswara Rao

Legendary actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao was born on September 20, 1923. Fondly known as ANR, he is remembered as among the most respected figures in Indian cinema. ANR was particularly popular for his charismatic portrayals in romantic and biographical-historical characters in Telugu films. He also founded prestigious Annapurna Studios in 1975 and Annapurna International School of Film and Media in 2011.
ANR was honoured with Dada Saheb Phalke Award in 1991.
