R Ramamurthy

A multifaceted film personality from south Indian cinema, R Ramamurthy was a director, producer and editor, who worked across the languages in Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada films.

He started his career in the late 1930s and was active in the film industry for nearly five decades. Right from Prabhjyoti Studio in the early days, he was associated with some of the oldest institutions in south Indian cinema.

His filmography includes films like C.I.D. Rajanna (1970), Devara Gudi (1975), and Premanubandha (1981).

Madabhushi Rangadorai, fondly known as Randor Guy is a well-known author, columnist and film historian, and also a lawyer by profession. He has written books like “Memories of Madras: Its Movies, Musicians & Men of Letters”, “A History of Tamil Cinema”, “Starlight, Starbright: The Early Tamil Cinema”. Guy has also written fiction novels like “Chaya” and “Kasi”.
